Welcome to Access to Benefits

Students who can't obtain a student loan or grant can also be denied access to Universal Credit. This disproportionately affects people with disabilities and people with young children.

The Disadvantaged Student Grant exists to remove this obstacle to education, and to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to achieve their full potential.

By making a grant available to eligible students, Access to Benefits empowers Universal Credit work coaches to better support the people in their care.
